Syrian security forces have attacked armed men who were trying to cross into the crisis-hit country through the border with Lebanon.

The Syrian army has inflicted heavy losses on the insurgents over the past several days.

The security forces killed a number of insurgents in the town of Rityan, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of the city of Aleppo, on Saturday.
