Syria: Al-Qusayr and the Hezbollah

The line of reports from Al-Qusayr remains the same as yesterday, and today we are almost able to say, that the “battle” is pretty close to its end.

Meanwhile, such reports of the presents of fighters of the Lebanese Tayyar Al-Mustaqbal (Future Movement) in al-Qusayr are interesting:

“Province of Homs. The cleanup operation against those armed gangs and groups, who are entrenched in the neighborhoods, continues. Currently, the main forces of the surviving terrorists still remain in the northern districts, where also the airport Ad-Dabaa, occupied by them, is located; it seems they apparently intend to use it for their escape from the encirclement.

In the course of the battles from today[21/05/2013 - author], a group of Lebanese fighters was destroyed by Syrian Army members, the group belonged to the Al-Mustaqbal, led by Saad Hariri; as well as a terrorist unit, consisting of 20 men, under the led of the field commander Wrtan al-Zkhuri from the al-Nusra-Front (Dschabhat al-Nusra).

Once again, a group of armed men was tracked down and liquidated at the border to Lebanon, while the gunmen tried to break through the blockade around the city and to help the encircled terrorists.” (ANNA-News)

Both Salafi and Israeli sources, and with the later, the “world community”, hardly get any air while they are getting loudly worked up (het up / excited) that Hezbollah takes part around Al-Qusayr. They modestly ignore the reasons for this, respectively they rant about an “alliance with the dictator”.

The Lebanese Hariri units are the reason. Hariri controls the comfortable and wide swath from the Lebanese Tripoli up to the Syrian border, which was set up by the sponsors of the aggression against Syria.

Foreign terrorists (especially North-African), tons of weapons, and ammunition reach Syria through this corridor. The Al-Mustaqbal will know how to feed themselves from the arsenals, which are passing by. Of course, the safe passage costs something.

Ultimately, Hezbollah is nothing else doing in this scenario than what israel is doing against Hezbollah – they are trying to prevent the rearmament of the Hariri units. Which are not arming themselves against israel, but against a much more uncomfortable enemy in the inland.

That there are Lebanese terrorists groups in Syria for a long time, this does not fit into the world picture which is jointly drawn by Israel and the Salafists (Salafis). So, without further ado, this gets suppressed without hesitation, and therefore, the half-truth looks similiar to a dangerous lie. Continue reading

Exclusive: Most Prominent Achievements of Syrian Army Obtained Recently

During the last few weeks, the Syrian army attained a great progress in the battlefield and regained many areas, Al-Manar TV correspondent reported.

Aided by the Popular Committees, the Syrian army regained the Prophet Mando strategic hill in Homs countryside, and dominated over the military supply lines that lead to Homs and al-Qussayr on the sides of Tel-Kalkh and Al-Qaa.

Moreover, the Syrian army retrieved tens of villages in Qussayr countryside; the most important are Al-Borhania and Sakarja. Some villages east and west Assi River were also recaptured. Consequently, the Syrian Army tightened its control over the entrances of Qussayr city.

In Homs, the Syrian troops were able to impose control over many regions that were considered militants’ strongholds, restore security in Feraaya, strengthen their deployment in Khaledeya and Baba-Amru, and distance themselves from threats of militant groups.

In Damascus countryside, however, the Syrian troops were able to tighten the ring around the gunmen in east Gouta, severely siege Darya, and restore security in Jdaydet Al-Adem.

Continue reading

Syria militants taking Shia villages on Lebanese border: Nasrallah

Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah

Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah says foreign-backed militants in Syria are taking Shia-populated villages on the Lebanese border.

Nasrallah made the remarks in a televised speech broadcast on Wednesday.

He denied allegations about Hezbollah’s role in the unrest in Syria, and accused Syrian militants of religious cleansing in border villages.

Nasrallah stated that the militants “have taken control of the villages inhabited by Lebanese Shias in recent months, chased them out, and burned some houses.”

The Hezbollah secretary general noted that he has always insisted on a united Syria.

The Syria crisis began in mid-March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security personnel, have been killed in the violence, and several international human rights organizations say the foreign-sponsored militants have committed war crimes.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah says the Lebanese resistance movement will defend the country against any possible attack by israel.

“I warn israelis, resistance will not be silent in case of aggression,” Nasrallah said Saturday during a speech marking the anniversary of martyred Hezbollah figures.

Nasrallah denied speculation that Hezbollah has become weak and said the resistance movement is prepared more than ever.

“Lebanon’s resistance movement is fully prepared and ready,” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Hezbollah secretary-general also stressed that resistance is the only choice for Palestinians in their struggle against Israeli occupation.

“israel is the greatest danger for Palestine and the region,” Nasrallah added.

He said Hezbollah would continue to support Palestinians in order for them to achieve their rights.

The israeli military frequently carries out airstrikes and other attacks on the Gaza Strip, saying actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, in violation of international law, disproportionate force is always used and civilians are often killed or injured.

The attacks rage on while israel keeps up its crippling blockade on Gaza, which it imposed on the enclave in 2007. Continue reading

Nasrallah: Iran Supports Palestine with No Expectation

“Iran has helped Palestine’s resistance (groups) for 30 years without any condition and has not expected even a simple appreciation. All what Iran wants is seeing Palestine retake its land and nothing more,” Nasrallah said on Sunday.

He further added that Lebanon stands by Iran in the Palestinian issue. “Therefore, we say that we stand beside you and move behind you for the sake of Palestine.”

Elsewhere, Nasrallah rejected allegations on disputes between Iran and the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, and said that there were some analyses that Hamas has preferred Arab countries, but not Iran, “but based on experiences we know that these are all hopes and wishes and are not real”.

“To all those who talked during the Gaza War about Hamas’ relations with Hezbollah and Iran, our relations with everyone are normal,” Middle-East Online quoted Nasrallah as saying.

“Iran did not interfere with the Palestinian resistance and its structure and decisions, it only offered support. It was only doing its duty for Gaza,” he said, adding, “Day after day, it is confirmed that Iran is an ally of Arabs and Muslims… and this was confirmed during the recent confrontation in Gaza and before that in Lebanon.”  Continue reading

US, allies in no hurry to end Syria violence: Nasrallah

Hezbollah Secretary-General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has said that certain countries are benefiting from the crisis in Syria and are trying to prolong the violence in the country.

Addressing a university graduation ceremony in Beirut, Nasrallah said on Sunday that the US and its allies are in no hurry to end violence in Syria and instead they are fueling the unrest because they want the country to be destroyed over its anti-Israeli stance.

Hezbollah secretary-general also warned al-Qaeda that the US has laid a trap for the group in Syria and by allowing al-Qaeda militants to easily enter the country, it is planning for them to kill each other in clashes there.

He further called national dialogue as the only way to end the Syrian crisis, stressing that those who oppose a political settlement to the country’s unrest are criminals.

Hezbollah chief said those who are fighting against the Syrian government are foreign militants and not Syrians because they are killing innocent civilians in car bombings and other acts of violence.

“They are not Syrians, they are killing Syrians,” Nasrallah said, adding that those who think foreign-backed militants will win are mistaken.

He also accused Western and Arab media outlets of launching a psychological war against the Syrian government by spreading false news about militants’ achievements.

“However, anyone who looks at Syria’s map and the regions controlled by the Syrian government can know that the regime is more powerful,” Nasrallah stated. Continue reading
