TEHRAN– Iranian Vice President Ali Saeedlou and Syrian Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs and Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalawanji affirmed the importance of Syrian-Iranian relations and the need to develop them in all fields.
During the first official meeting with members of the Syrian governmental delegation headed by Ghalawanji which is currently visiting Iran, the two sides called for uniting efforts to improve cooperation, denouncing the campaign of misdirection and the terrorism targeting the Syrian people and the country’s public and private establishments.
They also affirmed that Syria will emerge victorious thanks to the wisdom of its leadership, the steadfastness of its people, and the help of its loyal friends across the world.
VP Saeedlou affirmed that Iran supports the Syrian leadership, government and people in their confrontation with the global war waged against them because of their firm stances, support for resistance and refusal to be subjugated by foreign dictates, stressing that Iran is ready to support Syria on all levels.
In turn, Ghalawanji pointed out to the vicious war targeting Syria and its regional role, affirming that Syria’s people and leadership are determined to move forward with reform and combating terrorism.
On a relevant note, Ghalawanji and Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest, affirming the need to work together to deal with the challenges facing the two countries due to the policies of hegemony adopted by western countries towards the region in general and Syria in particular.
For his part, Salehi affirmed his country’s support for Syria in the face of the conspiracy and its support for the reforms undertaken by President Bashar al-Assad, voicing confidence that Syria will emerge from the crisis stronger than ever.
Ghalawanji underlined the scale of political, economic, media and security war against Syria, affirming that pressure and threats will only make the Syrian people more cohesive and determined to continue reforms and fight the terrorism funded and supported by western and regional countries.
He also noted that there are priorities for cooperation between Syria and Iran, specifically in the fields of economy, services, banking and energy.
Iran rejects any foreign intervention in the Syrian internal affairs
Iran reiterated rejection of any foreign intervention in the Syrian internal affairs, showing support to Syria in all fields and the reforms led by the Syrian leadership.
Meeting the Syrian official delegation headed by Ghalawanji, the Iranian Vice President Mohammad Riza Rahimi said that Syria pays the price of its national stances which support resistance and reject foreign dictations.
He condemned the misleading media campaigns, pressures and acts of terror and the support offered by western, regional countries to the armed terrorist groups in Syria which target the Syrian officials and citizens.
Ghalawanji, for his part, underlined the importance of boosting cooperation between Iran and Syria in the economic, service sectors and promoting this cooperation up to boost relations on all levels.
Larijani Reiterates Support for Syria, Denounces Conspiracies Against It
During a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Ghalawanji, Speaker of Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani reiterated his country’s support for the government and people of Syria and the reform process in it, denouncing all forms of foreign interference in its affairs and the terrorism targeting the Syrian people.
Larijani affirmed that the Shura Council backs the Iranian government’s decisions to support Syria in all fields, voicing confidence that Syria will emerge victorious and stronger than ever.
For his part, Ghalawanji affirmed that the unjust campaign against Syria on economic, political and security levels will never dissuade it from its role and principles, adding that Syria will always support the resistance and that the Syrian leadership is determined to carry out reforms and combat terrorism.
He also stressed the need to unite efforts to boost relations between Syria and Iran in the fields of economy and services to the level of their political relations.
The Syrian delegation currently visiting Iran includes the Ministers of Health, Electricity, Water Resources, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Housing and Urban Development, in addition to the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Chairman of the International Planning and Cooperation Agency, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, among other officials.
