A convoy of Turkish forces backed by several helicopters has entered the Syrian town of Jarablos in a Kurdish area.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had warned in late July that Ankara could strike the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) armed group inside Syria.
He also stated that the strike is “not even a matter of discussion, it is a given.”

Turkish troops have crossed the Syrian border to change the guard at Jaber Castle, Sabakh reports. Though located on the Syrian turf, this stronghold is considered a sovereign territory of Turkey.
Iran’s Press-TV earlier reported that a Turkish convoy, including 15 vehicles and a helicopter, entered the Syrian city of Jarablus, although it didn’t specify its goals.
Northern Iranian media claims that the Turkish troops are heading to Jaber Castle on the left bank of Lake Assad near Aleppo and south of Jarablus. The military are to relief the guard, who will then leave for Turkey.
