Meshaal: Hamas May Be Open to Negotiations, despite…

Khaled Meshal, the traitor

Head of Palestinian Hamas political bureau Khaled Meshal said that the movement will be open in principle to negotiations with the Zionist entity, even though the facts on the ground today make such talk pointless, western media quoted Meshaal as saying on Tuesday.

Speaking to the American Foreign Policy news magazine, Meshaal said the most important condition for negotiation to succeed is the balance of power, because without [it]… no peace can be achieved, arguing that an attempt to engage the Zionists diplomatically without proper leverage meant negotiations “would be turned to begging, begging for the rights of our people.”

While considering the armed resistance as an essential element, Meshaal confirmed it is a means and does not represent the goal, adding that the popular resistance has other options through diplomacy, media and charging the enemy in the legal arena to pay for his crimes.

During the interview that conducted after electing him for the political bureau of Hamas, Meshaal expressed support for peaceful means adopted by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, noting that the blame for the failure to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian dispute does not lie with the Palestinians.

“Israel is the one responsible. Israel occupies the lands … they are practicing the worst kind of killing,” he said. Continue reading

Nasrallah: Iran Supports Palestine with No Expectation

“Iran has helped Palestine’s resistance (groups) for 30 years without any condition and has not expected even a simple appreciation. All what Iran wants is seeing Palestine retake its land and nothing more,” Nasrallah said on Sunday.

He further added that Lebanon stands by Iran in the Palestinian issue. “Therefore, we say that we stand beside you and move behind you for the sake of Palestine.”

Elsewhere, Nasrallah rejected allegations on disputes between Iran and the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, and said that there were some analyses that Hamas has preferred Arab countries, but not Iran, “but based on experiences we know that these are all hopes and wishes and are not real”.

“To all those who talked during the Gaza War about Hamas’ relations with Hezbollah and Iran, our relations with everyone are normal,” Middle-East Online quoted Nasrallah as saying.

“Iran did not interfere with the Palestinian resistance and its structure and decisions, it only offered support. It was only doing its duty for Gaza,” he said, adding, “Day after day, it is confirmed that Iran is an ally of Arabs and Muslims… and this was confirmed during the recent confrontation in Gaza and before that in Lebanon.”  Continue reading

Israel Signals Hardline Policy Intentions

20121128-094833.jpg
By Stephen LENDMAN

Observers thinking Palestinians gained from Pillar of Cloud might think again.

Nothing changed. Hardline Netanyahu policies continue. Expect worse ahead. Palestinian peace, reconciliation and unity advocates are murdered or arrested.

Qassem brigades leader Ahmed Jabari negotiated a truce agreement draft. Ways for establishing ceasefires in case of future flare-ups were included.

Jabari was working with Egypt to establish permanent peace. Israel murdered him to prevent it. Peace, stability, and Palestinian unity defeat its agenda. Conflict and violence are prioritized.

Rogue states need enemies to justify policies. Israel’s include crimes of war and against humanity. They rage against soft targets. Tougher ones require US intervention. Israel prefers riding shotgun.

When enemies don’t exist, they’re invented. Hamas is a convenient one. So are Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah.

Achieving regional hegemony depends on inventing enemies, destroying major ones, and eliminating rivals various ways. Balkanizing some into weak statelets substitutes for full-scale war.

War In Gaza: Why Now?

Washington’s Blog

Election Politics?

It was widely reported that Israel agreed to delay any war against Iran until after U.S. elections.

A little over a week after the election, Israel launched a “targeted assassination” against the leader of Hamas (who Haaretz called Israel’s subcontractor in Gaza). That is what started the current round of fighting.

Rabbi Arthur Waskow agrees that Israel started the fighting.

Professor Michel Chossudovsky notes:

On November 14, Hamas military commander Ahmed Jabari was murdered in a Israeli missile attack. In a bitter irony, barely a few hours before the attack, Hamas received the draft proposal of a permanent truce agreement with Israel.

“Hours before Hamas strongman Ahmed Jabari was assassinated, he received the draft of a permanent truce agreement with Israel, which included mechanisms for maintaining the cease-fire in the case of a flare-up between Israel and the factions in the Gaza Strip.”(Haaretz, November 15, 2012)

The targeted assassination of Ahmed Jabari was followed by an extensive bombing campaign under Operation Pillar of Cloud. The latter consists of a carefully planned military endeavor.

F-16 fighter planes, Apache helicopters and unmanned drones were deployed. Israeli naval forces deployed along the Gaza shoreline were involved in extensive shelling of civilian targets.

Israel’s defense minister Ehud Barack has confirmed a scenario of military escalation, blaming Palestine for having committed acts of aggression: .

“[t]he provocations we have suffered and the firing of rockets to the southern settlements within Israel have forced us to take this action. I want to make clear that Israeli citizens will not suffer such actions. The targets are to hit the rockets and to harm the organization of Hamas.”

The Israeli attacks were followed by the firing of dozens of rockets by Hamas against Israel.

Palestine’s response was known to Israeli war planners. The resulting Israeli civilian casualties are now being used to justify military escalation on humanitarian grounds.

What we are dealing with is a carefully planned operation, a clear act of provocation. The deaths of Israeli civilians (envisaged and foreseen by IDF military planners) are being used to muster the support of the Israeli public.

Meanwhile, the Israeli attack is casually portrayed by the Western media as part of a legitimate counter-terrorism agenda.

Obama Personally Arranged Benghazi Trip That Resulted In Murder Of US AMB Chris Stevens and others

20121101-234701.jpg

By Lawrence SINCLAIR, lsnewsgroup

September 11, 2012 U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were murdered on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11.

From the very beginning the Obama White House with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by Obama’s side took to the media claiming that the torture, rape and murder of the first United States Ambassador since 1979 was the result of some obscure YouTube video (that from its uploading on July 2, 2012 to September 10, 2012 had all of 17 views) mocking the prophet Muhammad.

Thirty-five days later we are still allowing the media and the Obama Administration to hide the truth and continue in their deliberately reporting information they KNOW to be untrue while refusing to address these facts which come from US State Department and Obama White House sources.

AMB Chris Stevens was NOT surprised by his killers in Benghazi, Libya as has been portrayed thus far. According to sources in the State Department Chris Stevens was in Benghazi, Libya at the specific instruction of the Obama White House to recover weapons that the U.S. supplied to Libya rebels in the over throw of Gaddafi.

These sources who work in the State Department and the Obama White House say that Barack Obama was directly involved in negotiations with Libyan Rebels in an effort to recover weapons that the U.S. supplied them. Sources say that the arrangements were made between Barack Obama direct talks and that the White House directly arranged for AMB Stevens to travel to Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 and it was by direction of Barack Obama that Stevens was to meet with the very individuals who tortured, raped and murdered him.

(Excerpted from Chapter 10: The Iran/Iraq War: Big Oil & Their Bankers…)

By Dean HENDERSON, LEFT HOOK

The irrational deep-seated hatred which the Anglo-American foreign policy establishment holds towards Iran is rooted in the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which overthrew the Four Horsemen stooge Shah and nationalized Iran’s oil and banking industries.

The Eight Families banking cabal much preferred the mullahs to the leftists. By 1982 CIA and MI6 were passing targeting information to the Ayatollah aimed at Iranian leftist groups like the Tudeh Party, the National Front and the People’s Mujahadeen. The mullahs unleashed a reign of terror, assassinating over 4,000 Tudeh Party leaders, while torturing and imprisoning over 10,000 Tudeh members and supporters. In 1989 many of those imprisoned were sentenced to death. [412]

Khomeini banned Tudeh, terming them “Marxist satanic elements” – something even the Shah hadn’t done. The Tudeh Party spearheaded the Iranian Revolution through their Committee of 60 oilfield strikes in Khuzistan. The party earlier ushered in Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh, whose attempts to wrest better terms from the Four Horsemen-controlled Iranian Consortium made him the target of a successful BP-financed coup in 1953.

The US was now once again helping Islamic extremists, this time to exterminate the Iranian left. One US official assured reporters that the executions “would not hinder the warming of US/Iran relations”. [413] Big Oil was dealing with the Ayatollah as well, secretly shipping Iranian crude to Saudi Arabia for refining.

The Israeli Mossad was walking the same high-wire in their country, where in 1978 it allowed the fundamentalist Hamas to become the only Palestinian group registered in Israel. Within a decade Hamas leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin had built a powerful organization that ruled the Gaza Strip under Israeli watch. [414]

The Israelis found Hamas a convenient bludgeon which they could deploy against Yasser Arafat whose Palestinian Authority had emerged from Fatah and the PLO, both of which put forth a secular left of center political agenda based on Arab unity and nationalism.

Hamas has a much different agenda. They are Islamists whose goal is to set up an Islamic state with funding from the undemocratic right-wing GCC sheikdoms, especially the House of Saud. Hamas regularly receives funds from the Saudis without intervention by the Israelis, while money bound for the PLO is routinely seized by Israeli authorities. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon played a critical role in the founding of Hamas in 1988, when his Likud Party doled out 800 licenses to Islamists in the occupied Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank. The right-wing Israeli Likud uses Hamas to sew division among the Palestinians.

The Saudis favor Hamas since their interests are firmly aligned with those of the international bankers and the Four Horsemen. The Saudis prefer fundamentalist groups that talk of “infidels” and “the decadence of Western culture”, to those more radical nationalist groups who rail against the injustice of neo-liberal globalization, a system from which the House of Saud derives its vast wealth. After the Gulf War the House of Saud cut funding to the PLO to punish Arafat for his opposition to the US bombing of Iraq, while the Saudis continued to fund Hamas. [415] Many House of Saud members are members of the secret society Muslim Brotherhood-Benoist-Mechin.

Syria attacks Hamas leader as rift widens

Syria’s state-run media have criticized the leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas – once a staunch ally of the Damascus regime – for allegedly turning his back on President Bashar al-Assad.

Syrian TV in a late Monday broadcast described Hamas’ leader Khaled Meshal as “ungrateful and traitorous.”

Meshal used to be based in Damascus but now spends most of his time in Qatar, which backs Syrian rebels battling Assad’s troops.

Relations between Assad’s regime and Hamas have been disintegrating over since Syria’s uprising erupted over 18 months ago.

Hamas at first took a neutral stance, but then in February, the group praised Syrians for “moving toward democracy and reform.”

Most Hamas leaders have since left Syria to settle in Egypt, where their allies in the Muslim Brotherhood are in power.

Mursi, during a Tehran summit in August, condemned the Syrian regime and offered his support to the rebels.

Meshal and Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh met separately with Mursi in July. The meetings were hailed as a “turning point” in bilateral relations.

Meshal announced last month that he would not be seeking reelection as head the Hamas movement.
