Aleppo city ‘hot zones’ look normal

We are in Aleppo city, the city known to be the financial capital of Syria, on contrary of all media propaganda, the city looks normal, traffic is usual as described by our driver, and the resident of Aleppo can’t be more warm and generous, Press TV crew had been stopped repeatedly by people in the streets who expressed their thanks and appreciation for our coverage.

Early in the next morning, we set our cameras, heading to Al Hamadaniyeh area; it’s in area bordering the famous Salah ElDien neighborhood or as the foreign backed militia calling themselves Free Syrian Army wishes to call it “Baba Amr of Aleppo”.
It took us 15 minutes of driving through the streets of Aleppo to get to our destination. Our way was smooth, no gunshots heard, and no militia existence all the way. The smell of death is everywhere in Al Hamadaniyeh; abandoned houses are the first thing you notice upon your arrival, burned buildings and Fasting Syrian commander is studying his maps of the area, telling his solders to prepare their weapons.

Syrian soldiers were highly motivated and doing their duties with enthusiasm, Press TV crew wanted to stay longer with them but our schedule was tight so we had to move on.

Blatant Corporate Media Propaganda Inciting Hatred of Syria to Justify Intervention

By Eric BLAIR, Activist Post

It’s more obvious everyday that propaganda is getting more blatant, more in our face. Mostly we just assume it has always been there but it’s usually cleverly subtle. Not lately though. It’s blood in your face time especially in regards to the “conflict” in Syria.

Take a look at this Huffington Post front page from today:

This struck me for several reasons which I’ll get into; but first, this is at least the third time they’ve plastered their front page with this propaganda in the last couple of weeks. These blood-soaked headlines always lead to an Associated Press story, or, in this case, Reuters.

It’s difficult to even know where to begin breaking down the blatant propaganda tactics used here. Let’s ignore the gory red paint splatters on the Syrian flag, as that one is pathetically obvious.

To bring some immediate perspective to this headline, imagine if it read “HORROR: NEW MASSACRE IN PAKISTAN — Activists: American Drone Bombs Slaughter 78…Women and Children Killed.”

But that headline would never happen because they (the State Department controlled AP and Reuters) would never allow those emotional trigger words to be used. Instead, “militants” were always killed with maybe a bit of collateral damage during “U.S. drone mission.” No one was ever slaughtered or massacred during drone “missions” . . . those words are only used to describe the enemy’s actions.

Washington Wants Its Imperial Model Duplicated In Libya

Washington ran NATO’s imperial war against Libya to colonize, occupy and plunder another vassal state. Democracy and humanitarian considerations are non-starters. Only wealth and power matters. Libyans will be ruthlessly exploited. Decades of vital social gains are lost. NATO turned Libya into a charnel house. Tens of thousands of corpses bear testimony.

Major media scoundrels lied about war objectives from inception. Now they cheerlead ravaged Libya’s success. Correspondents there see one thing and report another. They make pimps, prostitutes and dope peddlers look respectable in comparison. Peaceful nonbelligerent Libya was ravaged, raped, and devastated. Many thousands became homeless refugees. Impoverishment and misery afflicts them. Kosovars, Iraqis, Afghans, and others know it’s coming wherever NATO shows up. Only sustained liberating struggles can change things. Libyans are committed for the long haul to achieve it.

On October 30, Mathaba headlined, “Libyan Freedom Fighters vow to fight on against NATO and its rebels,” saying: Continue reading
