TEHRAN (Source: FNA)- Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr al-Thani admitted that his country is interfering in Syria’s internal affairs by supporting terrorists and sending weapons to them.
“Declaring a no-fly-zone and providing safe passages for assistance (to terrorists in Syria) is amongst the most important priorities of Qatar,” al-Thani told the CNN.
He also called on the international community to help armed rebels in Syria, adding that such a move doesn’t need the permission of the UN Security Council.
Qatari and Saudi rulers want an overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a staunch ally of Iran, and they have taken every measure to this end.
In his latest remarks against Syria, the Emir of Qatar called on the Arab nations to form a political and military coalition to intervene in Syria, posing a direct challenge to UN efforts to resolve the conflict through negotiations.
Also, director of one of the branches of the Doha Bank disclosed financial documents substantiating the Qatari government’s support for terrorist and rebel groups in Syria. Continue reading →
Gen, Fahd Jassem al-Freij, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense, stressed that Syria will not accept that the components of its sovereignty and dignity be affected in any way.
Speaking to the Syrian TV by phone, Gen. al-Freij said that Syria’s gear is the solid national unity binding its people and Army around the wise and brave leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
The Minister saluted the Armed Forces on the occasion of the 67 th anniversary of the foundation of the Army as they are engaged in the battle of defending the homeland’ pride, independence and sovereignty against the armed terrorist groups and their funders and suppliers.
“On this occasion, I want to say that they are deluded who ever think that by having money and arms flowed from Gulf, regional and international governments upon hirelings could ever deviate Syria, leadership, people and army, from its approach of resistance, adherence to rights and rejection of all forms of subordination and surrender,” said Gen. al-Freij. We are now clearly entering a new phase in the propaganda war with regard to Syria, heralded by the NATO-aligned establishment now using the presence of Al-Qaeda fighters in the country, many of whom were airlifted into Syria by NATO powers, as a justification to launch a wider military assault.
For months the establishment media has downplayed the presence and influence of Al-Qaeda rebels as a means of legitimizing the NATO-backed Free Syrian Army’s efforts to topple President Bashar Assad.
Despite innumerable bombings and assassinations targeting the regime, the fact that Al-Qaeda fighters were behind the violence was considered taboo, and some mainstream news outlets even preferred to spin conspiracy theories about Assad’s forces being behind the bombings rather than admit the truth.
