Syria army marches on to clear Damascus suburbs of Takfiris

The Syrian army is making progress in its operations against foreign-backed Takfiri militants in the suburbs of the capital, Damascus, Press TV reports.

Syrian troops on Sunday advanced into some areas of Damascus suburbs including al-Qaboun and Jobar, inflicting heavy losses on the militants.

In Jobar, the army units gained more ground after killing a number of militants and confiscating weapons.

The army also discovered a militant hideout used for making explosives near al-Manasher square, where poisonous chemical materials including chlorine were found. Some of the chemical containers had ‘Made in Saudi Arabia’ label on them.

The Syrian army also regained control of al-Musiqa battalion base, which is still in the range of militant sniper fire.

According to official sources, more than 60 percent of Jobar is under the control of the army.

Syrian army personnel told Press TV that they would continue operations until clearing all of the suburb area of Eastern Ghuta.

In al-Qaboun, fierce fighting between the army and militants continued, with the army securing the municipality building and a school. Several residential buildings were also cleared of militants.

On July 13, Syrian forces took control of an industrial zone in al-Qaboun that links it with Jobar.

Reports coming out of Syria suggest that government forces are pushing ahead with their mop-up operations against the militants across the country.

The army has recently conducted successful clean-up operations, inflicting heavy losses on Takfiris.

Foreign-sponsored militancy in Syria has taken its toll on the lives of many people, including large numbers of Syrian soldiers and security personnel, since March 2011.

Western powers and their regional allies including the Israeli regime, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are supporting the anti-Syria militant groups, including al-Qaeda-linked terrorists.

In an interview with Syrian daily Al-Thawra published on July 4, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said the opposition and their foreign supporters have “exhausted all their tools” in a conspiracy against Syria.

Eutelsat’s Zionist boss continues war on media freedom

The European satellite provider Eutelsat, owned by the Zionist Michel de Rosen, has ordered Nilesat to pull the plug on Iran’s English-language news channel, Press TV, as part of his war on freedom of speech.

Eutelsat’s secretary Edoudardo Silverio has written a letter to Nilesat authorities, demanding them to stop broadcasting Iranian channels, including Press TV.

“We hereby officially request again that you discontinue the broadcast of these IRIB [Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting] channels within 48 hours of your receipt of this letter,” read the letter dated February 18.

The letter came in response to Nilesat’s refusal to pull the plug on Press TV.

In December 2012, a US intelligence analyst said the French-based satellite provider Eutelsat SA is a company whose agenda has been long dictated to it by Israeli extremist groups.

“Eutelsat is a person, not a company. Eutelsat says it is European, but it is actually Israeli. French sounding ‘Michel de Rosen’, an Israeli citizen, runs Eutelsat company with Israeli stockholders; a company long dictated to by extremist groups within Israel, the militant ultra-nationalists of the Likudist regime of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu,” Gordon Duff told Press TV at that time.

Eutelsat SA ordered media services company, Arqiva, on October 15, 2012, to stop the broadcast of several Iranian satellite channels, including Press TV.

The company’s only press release stated that the decision was based on reinforced European Union Council sanctions and a confirmation by France’s broadcasting authority, but an EU spokesperson told Press TV that the sanctions contain no such orders. Continue reading

Will NATO Try a Wag-the-Dog Provocation Against Syria to Keep Sarkozy in Power After May 6?

Tarpley: I think there is a significant degree of centralization in the following sense. It’s the NATO states plus the reactionary feudal monarchies of the Gulf, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and others. The history of this, I think, is interesting you are dealing with death squads. They are indeed terrorists but the kernel, the hard core, the main force of what’s causing the trouble in Syria is these death squads and where did they come from.

Back in 2006, 2007 the US forces in Iraq found that their situation was almost untenable and Ambassador John Negroponte was brought in after a career in Central America and Latin America. It was found that wherever Negroponte showed up in Central America, in Salvador that death squads would appear and begin essentially Continue reading

Dear readers, Tyranny is also present in France. CounterPsyOps co-founder @MkerOne is reporting that the Press TV channel is no longer available in France. We did cover some weeks ago, how the Global Elite succeeded to shut down the 1st Iranian TV Channel from broadcasting in UK under false legal pretext: please see our post:

The reason is Press TV (unlike its counterpart the Zionist Qatari controlled Media: Al Jazeera) has been quite fair and balanced since the beginning in reporting the Syrian insurgency originated by Foreign Backed Terrorists. Even sometimes supporting the government of President Al Assad and the Free People of Syria.

Today while trying to access his favorite , cause till somehow independent channel, @MkerOne reported that he got the following black screen:

“We regret that Press TV for legal reasons may not be broadcasted on Astra from now on. The broadcaster works on a quick solution. We ask for your patience”

It has to be said that during the Mohamed Merah events, about the possibility that Al Jazeera may has broadcasted the movies of the murders by the Toulouse shooters, the French CSA: ‘Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuelle’: the governing Authority of the French Broadcasting Television assured that it had the power to control or interrupt the broadcasting signal of any channel emitting via Satellite over the French Territory. This last move about shutting down Press TV in France can only be the signal that President Sarkozy gave the instructions unilaterally to cut the Astra satellite signal of a foreign channel that goes against the interests of France because it defends the Syrian Cause.

‘Zionist Bicom behind UK Press TV ban’

The Zionist Britain Israel Communications & Research Centre (Bicom) has collaborated with the state-controlled British Office of Communications (Ofcom) to ban the alternative English-language channel Press TV in the UK, a political analyst says.

“With anti-Iran sabotage activities high on its agenda, Bicom has worked closely with Ofcom towards eliminating a critical voice: Press TV,” Ismail Salami, Iranian author and Middle East expert, wrote in an article published on Press TV on Sunday.

Ofcom revoked Press TV’s license and removed the channel from the Sky platform on January 20 for what it claimed to be the news network’s breach of the Communications Act. The British media regulator also served Press TV’s London office with an order to pay a 100,000-pound fine.

“An office with intimate ties to the [British] Royal Family, Ofcom has issued the verdict under the sway of some influential parties in the government and the Bicom firm to boot,” Salami added.

He went on to explain the activities and objectives of the Israeli-sponsored company, pointing out that as a “London-based” organization “tasked with inseminating the Zionist political ideology, Bicom also funds those who are in one way or another involved with anti-Iran activities.”

“Apart from garnering support for the Zionist regime among Britons, the office also serves as a bridge between the Mossad and MI6,” with its current head, Lorna Fitzsimons, a member of the parliamentary lobby group Labor Friends of Israel (LFI), Salami elucidated.

The Iranian author also pointed to the October 2011 scandal over Adam Werritty — an “influential member” of Bicom and “an unofficial chief of staff” to the former British Defense Minister Liam Fox — and his efforts to subvert the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“Werritty was financially backed by murky sources such as Bicom. And he was considered an influential member of the organization and a highly regarded agent for Mossad,” he noted.

“Reports also suggest that Werritty had regularly met Iranian anti-government groups, Israeli agents and right-wing US groups with a long-standing interest in subverting [Iranian] President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and overthrowing the Islamic government,” Salami elaborated.

The British media regulator Ofcom is also said to have close ties to Britain’s royal family. The cables released by the whistleblower website Wikileaks show that Press TV’s programs on the royal wedding, which many in the country described as extravagant, angered the royal family.

The Middle East expert noted that, “With the closure of Press TV’s office in London and the removal of the channel from the Sky platform, Britain is now deluded into believing that her efforts have resulted in splendid fruits and that she has been able to gratify the whims of the Zionists.”

“Alas! Poor Ms. Britain! There is never an impediment to the free flow of truth!” Salami concluded.

‘UK Press TV ban prelude to Iran war’

A political analyst says the British media regulator (Ofcom) shut down Press TV in the UK to prevent the broadcast of the truth about Iran and to set the stage for an attack on the country, Press TV reports.

The British Office of Communications (Ofcom) revoked Press TV’s license and removed the channel from the Sky platform on Friday for what it claimed to be the news network’s breach of the Communications Act. Ofcom had earlier hit Press TV with a fine of 100 thousand pounds.

“All that is coming to deny Iran the ability of expressing really what is happening in Iran and the motives behind imperialist forces [who] are preparing to attack a country [which] never for the last three hundred years attacked anyone except defending itself against aggressors,” Saeb Shaath told Press TV in an exclusive interview.

Ofcom had reportedly alleged that Press TV’s editorial team was based in Tehran, claiming that this is in breach of broadcasting license rules in the UK.

“Ofcom has decided to revoke the license held by Press TV Limited with immediate effect,” the media regulator said in a statement.

Shaath said Israel and the United States had been pushing to take Press TV off air “for years,” stressing that Ofcom’s decision had been influenced by the Zionist lobby.

“But to me, I see this is a real dark day for freedom of speech and a gross reminder of the Spanish Inquisition to silence the voice of Press TV, which gives a huge number of followers in the UK and EU an alternative point of view which underlies what is really going on in the world and that is what has scared them.”

Many observers believe that the British government’s hostile campaign against Press TV has its roots in the channel’s extensive and transparent coverage of the role the British government played in the killing of tens of thousands of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They have also noted this behavior is quite natural for a government with more than 400 years of colonialist background filled with breaches of people’s rights, murder, and plundering various nations’ assets.

“They (Ofcom) discovered [that] Press TV is really influential in changing the points of view in the West; and they did not create [a similar] Press TV, they could not influence Press TV,” Shaath concluded.
